Founded in 2022, vildwerk. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring environmental conservation and wildlife protection through dance. The company collaborates with world-renowned choreographers, dancers, composers and conservationists to create performances dedicated to animals and the environment. On Jan. 21, 2027, vildwerk. will make its New York City Center debut with Dancing for the Wild, an evening of world premieres in a one-night-only engagement.
vildwerk. commissions and produces original ballets inspired by real-world conservation efforts and informed by leading scientists and environmental experts. They are performed by artists from many of the world’s foremost dance companies, including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company and others. Their partners include World Wildlife Fund, Born Free, Nature and Culture International, Turtle Conservancy, Re:Wild, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Hudson River Park’s River Project, California Grizzly Alliance, and more.
Beyond the stage, vildwerk. develops education and community engagement programs in partnership with schools and conservation organizations, extending its mission to audiences of all ages.
