In Jilin, China, seven dogs, including a golden retriever, German shepherd, Labrador, Pekingese and Corgi, were stolen from three separate households. The seven all managed to escape and embark on an adventure that proved to be a lesson in teamwork and loyalty.
The dogs could be seen walking along the shoulder of a highway in northeastern China, a tightly grouped pack of pet dogs moving with clear purpose, as if they knew exactly where they were going. Rather than scattering or appearing confused, the animals remained close, navigating traffic and unfamiliar surroundings side by side. The South China Morning Post noted that the group leader appeared to be the corgi, who repeatedly glancing back toward the others as if making sure no one was left behind. At one point during the journey, the dogs were seen surrounding the injured German shepherd and keeping it positioned safely in the center of the group.
The seven animals traveled nearly 11 miles across busy roads and open countryside to get back to their homes, according to CBS Chicago.
All the dogs were reunited with their families. They provide an example of loyalty and teamwork that can serve as a lesson to all humane beings.
